What happens after you refer

  1. We reach out to the family

A real person from our intake team contacts the parent or guardian within one business day, using the contact method you provided.

  2. We verify coverage

We check the child’s Medical Assistance or EIDBI eligibility on our end. The family doesn’t need to call their insurance, and neither do you.

  3. We close the loop with you

You get a confirmation that the referral was received. With the family’s consent, we can keep you informed as they move toward their first session.

Who sends us referrals

Referrals reach us from across a child’s circle of care. You don’t need a special relationship with us, and the family commits to nothing by being referred.

Pediatricians & primary care

Screening flagged possible autism, or a family asked where to start. Send them to us and we handle EIDBI and the CMDE pathway from there.

Case managers & county staff

You support a family on Medical Assistance who needs ABA. We welcome MA and EIDBI, verify coverage, and keep you in the loop.

Schools & early childhood

ECSE teams, Help Me Grow, and early-childhood staff who see a child who could benefit from early, intensive support.

Families & friends

You don’t have to be a professional to refer. If you know a Twin Cities family who could use ABA, point them our way.

Are you the parent or guardian? Skip the referral and start intake directly.

A note on privacy. Only share a family’s information when you have their permission, or when you’re a member of that family. We ask you to confirm consent on the form, we use the details only to reach the family and begin intake, and we request any clinical records securely after first contact.

Referral questions

What providers and families ask before sending a child our way.

Want to understand the EIDBI and evaluation path first? Read our CMDE guide for Minnesota families.

Anyone. Pediatricians, primary care providers, case managers, county workers, school and early-childhood staff, other therapists, and family members or friends can all send a referral. If you are a parent or guardian, you can skip the referral form and start intake directly.

No. You can refer a child at any stage, including before a diagnosis. EIDBI-funded ABA therapy will eventually require an autism diagnosis and a CMDE (Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation), and we guide the family through both steps. We do not perform the CMDE ourselves; we help families find a licensed evaluator.

We accept Minnesota Medical Assistance in four forms: Straight MA, HealthPartners PMAP, Blue Cross Blue Shield PMAP, and MA TEFRA. For most EIDBI families on Medical Assistance, ABA therapy comes at no out-of-pocket cost. We verify coverage for the family after the referral.

Our intake team contacts the family within one business day, verifies their coverage, and maps out next steps. We email you a confirmation that the referral was received, and with the family’s consent we can keep you informed as they begin services.

Please don’t attach full medical records to the referral form. Send only what you need to make the referral, then we’ll request any documentation securely after we’ve made first contact with the family. You can also email us at info@neurolinkacademy.com to coordinate.

The fastest way to refer is this form or a phone call to 612-464-4132. If your workflow requires a fax or a specific referral form, call us and we’ll accommodate it. We’re currently accepting new clients.
